Privacy policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
FosterUI is me, Robert Foster, in Yulee, Florida. This policy says what I collect, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask me to do with it.
1. What I collect
- When you contact me or fill in a form on fosterui.com: your name, email, store URL and what you tell me in the form.
- When you book a call: your name, email and the time you choose.
- When you hire me: billing details for the invoice, and access to your Shopify store for the work.
- When you visit fosterui.com: the pages you view and how you found the site, through cookies (section 4).
- When I contact you first: your name, role and business email from public sources such as LinkedIn and Upwork.
- When you get an email from me: whether it was opened and which links were clicked.
2. Why I use it
To reply to you, to quote and do the work you ask for, to bill you, and to see which pages people find useful. I don't sell, rent or trade your information, or share it for advertising, and I don't add you to a marketing list because you filled in a form.
3. Who else handles it
I use these services to run the business. Each works under its own privacy policy.
- Shopify: runs fosterui.com and its contact forms.
- HubSpot: my contact list, forms, emails and call booking.
- Google Workspace: email, calendar, video calls (Google Meet), documents and the files for your work.
- Stripe: payments and invoices. Stripe holds your card or bank details; I see only the last four digits.
- Upwork: if you hire me through Upwork, it handles the contract and payment.
- Anthropic (Claude): an AI tool I use to review code and draft documents. It may see your store's code, our emails and my notes on your work. My account is set so that this isn't used to train Anthropic's models.
- Google Gemini, inside Google Workspace: Google's AI in my email and documents. Google Workspace doesn't use this to train its models without my permission, and I haven't given it.
- GitHub: the theme code I write for you is kept in a GitHub account that belongs to you. If you don't have one, I set one up in your name.
Your information is stored and processed in the United States.
4. Cookies on fosterui.com
The site uses cookies from Shopify (to run the site), HubSpot (to connect a form you send with your earlier visits) and Google Analytics (to count visits and see which pages are read). You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Most of the site works without them; forms and call booking may not.
5. Your store's data
When I work in your store, I see what your staff account or collaborator access shows. I use it only for the work you hired me for. I don't copy your customers' personal data out of Shopify unless the work needs it, and if it does, I delete my copy when the work ends.
6. How long I keep it
I keep contact and deal records for as long as you and I are in touch and for 3 years after. I keep invoices for as long as tax law requires. I keep the files, code and reports from your work for 3 years after it ends. I remove my access to your store when the work and its 30-day fix window end.
7. Keeping it safe
I protect every account that holds your information with biometric or two-factor sign-in.
8. What you can ask me to do
You can ask me to show you the information I hold about you, to correct it, to export it, or to delete it. Email robert@fosterui.com. I confirm who's asking before I export or delete anything. I'll reply within 1 business day and finish within 30 days. I keep invoices where tax law requires me to.
9. Children
fosterui.com is for businesses. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes
If I change this policy, I update the date at the top. If I change how I use client data, I email current clients.
